Labouchère Roulette System

The Labouchère system, also called the cancellation system or split martingale, is a gambling strategy used in any gambling game. However, it is known to work particularly well with roulette.

The player decides before playing how much money he wants to win and writes down a list of positive numbers that sum to the predetermined amount.

With each bet, the player stakes an amount equal to the sum of the first and last numbers on the list.

How to Play Labouchere Roulette System

If only one number remains, that number is the amount of the stake. If the bet is successful, the two amounts are removed from the list. If the bet is unsuccessful, the amount lost is appended to the end of the list.

In order to see this system all the way through, you’ll need to continue making bets until you’ve completely wiped out the line. At that point, you’ll have completed the Labouchere system, and you’ll have reached the goal you set before you started.

Using the Labouchere system means that player have to win less than half of his bets in order to ultimately reach a pre-determined betting goal.

It doesn’t matter how many wins or losses you get along the way, so long as you get to the end of your betting line, your profit will be the total of the original betting line added together.

Watch this short clip that explains the game process:

This system has a slight resemblance to systems such as the Martingale, in that you will have to increase your bets if you should happen to hit a losing streak. However, this effect is much less severe than in the Martingale, where your bets are always doubling. The change in bet sizes is instead much more gradual in the Labouchere, making it somewhat more manageable for most players.

The math adds up nicely providing you stick to the system. If you get as many wins as losses without an extended losing run in the middle, you will be in profit.
